See you at IWAC 2018 hosted by Auburn University.
Saturday we’re still at the League! If you were with us Friday, most of this is old news.
Check-in begins at 8am in the Michigan League lobby located at the main entrance on the west side of the building, where the fountain is (pictured here). If you are dropped off by car, you’ll likely enter the south entrance off of N. University. Follow the signs pointing toward the check-in area.

Below you’ll find a general map that includes our main conference locations (in dark gray and marked with stars) and housing (marked with house icons). The Blake Transit Center is also marked (on the left edge of the map) as well as the Slurping Turtle (WAC-GO reception).
The Burton Tower (or bell tower) is located near our Friday/Saturday location at the Michigan League/Alumni Center and housing at North Quad/Bell Tower Hotel. Summerfest is also held right next to it. If you get turned around, it’s a good reference point to get you headed back in the right direction.
Looking for something to do during your stay? Check out our Ann Arbor Guide for recommendations of local restaurants, shops, bookstores, bars, and other places worth a visit while you are here. Stop by our on-site Info/Check-in desks during the conference if you need directions or have any questions.
Friday, june 24th 5:30–7:30pm • Slurping Turtle (608 E. Liberty)
All graduate students are invited to a reception on Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Slurping Turtle (608 East Liberty), in the party room on the lower level. Sponsored by George Mason University, the Council of Writing Program Administrators, Pearson, Anne Gere, Michael Palmquist, and Bedford/St. Martin’s – Macmillan, this free event will give graduate students an opportunity to meet one another and talk about establishing a Graduate Organization within the WAC community.
The Ann Arbor Summer Festival is hard to miss during the conference. The Rackham stage, located right outside of the Michigan League (Friday/Saturday conference location), hosts live music and other events from 7-11pm every night. Food vendors and a wine/beer garden are also on site, but for a more local experience drink or dine downtown and stroll through the festival and campus afterwards.
